Thanks Nester! I've now turned into a fabricaholic, as well..... I've become obsessed with the remnant bin since I realize what nifty window treatments you can whip up. I can sew, but I've always been a "make it today, wear it tomorrow" kind of girl. Thanks for saving me some grief!

love all the inspiration here

(hangs head in shame)--Oh Nester, I wanted to get in on this SOOO badly, but the room where my mistreatment is is the one room I'm in the middle of painting right now. It does NOT look currently attractive. Wanted to finish on Saturday, but got caught out in my yard instead. SIGH!

I can't wait to take the tour-o-mistreatments and drool though :)!

Already saw Kimba's---WOW!

Great luck to you and your Linky experiment!

its very interesting to see everyones ideas. Ya know Nester...what would finish this off in a huge way is to pick a winner of who did the best at executing it as closely as you would have and documented how they did it. Just an idea.
Love your blog and how you have rallied everyone to work harder on their homes. The home is CRITICAL!! I have a sm. home that I didnt even pick but I work very hard on it. When folks come in and act impressed it makes my heart sing.

The Nester said...

pick a winner? or winners? like that, traci! I mean, everyone's a winner but how fun to highlight a few of my favorites!

if I get really motivated i might just do that!

Rhoda @ Southern Hospitality said...

While I really like my window treatments to be sewed & on rods, I did recently do a little mistreatment in my master bath, with a fabric valance, covered buttons, and put up with tacks. Not much room for a rod, so this did just fine. I know I'll enjoy looking at all the creative ideas that all these girls have come up with.

You started the craze! And lots have obviously followed. We all want our homes to be beautiful, no matter the size or shape of them. Fun party! Mr. Linky is the best, I used him a couple of weeks ago for my party.

Thanks for the Plantation Shutters Idea. We looked into them the first summer we were in our home (7 years ago) and could not afford them. Since then we've added 2 more boys and 2 dogs to the mix. Throw in an 8 month job layoff and they were just not on the list of things to buy. We are debt snowballing right now (with gazelle intensity) and so far have eliminated one whole student loan! I feel like I can see a day when custom shutters will be a reality. Thanks for the inspiration. God Bless - Kristi
