So, what do you think? Ya'll had such wonderful, ambitious ideas. But, I am LAZY!
Here's a list of all the things I want to do:
Paint my son's queen size sleigh bed
Paint my armiour {again, I am gonna copy Meredith and do the inside a contrasting color}
Find a place to use some old plantation shutters
Hang something in the playroom
Hang something in the boys rooms
Make a slip cover for the naked sofa in our bedroom {that'll be right after I win the Nobel Peace Prize}
Take a shower everyday
Remember to homeschool my boys
Eventually, I am gonna paint the wood arm things and then after I hate that, I'll give Tamara a call and have her tell me how to recover it. That sounds like fun. For real, if I had two days by myself I'd be all over that chair. After I disinfect it. I hope no one gave birth on that chair or worse, threw up on it. Or died. I mean, why else would someone get rid of such a fine specimen?

Now don't you know YOU weren't suppose to do anything to the chair--you were suppose to make your kids do it for you--as a school project :)! Actually, I love the faux fur throw on the chair. It looks great!
We'll have to compare "to do" lists one day--yours sounds as ominous as mine!

I love your window treatments and that was one reason I dug my old draperies out from under my bed this week.
Love it. :) And love that you're lazy sometimes, too. Because even thought I suggested that major overhaul, I'm living with 2 bathrooms in need of painting, one of them needing mirrors redone. I just like giving big assignments to others!
LOVE it! We are still in search of the perfect upholstered chair for our living room! BTW: I have started decorating the bedroom, arent you proud of me... still need a lamp for that room though :)
If it works! I was going to suggest a ton of pillows but thought that would cover up the back that you love so much.
Don't forget to add to your list to add more tassels to your Etsy shop! Because I know you want to make me happy more than anything...

Ok, I have something for you to think about, if you have time. You have a door on your wall and shutters above your fireplace. I keep telling my husband we need to hang something besides typical art on a wall. He jokes that we should hang a shovel. Soon enough I found rustic rakes and bread paddles (close to a shovel, no?) at Potterybarn. He gave a brief nervous laugh when I showed him. Hey they are on sale now. I mentioned we could hang an old window minus the glass. Of course there are the old tin tiles standby, baskets, hats.
Do you have other suggestions for interesting things to hang on walls that is not "art"? Preferably something you could find at a yard sale or in someone's trash.
P.S. I've seen an old wooden sled or maybe it was a tobaggon, hung on a wall.

Yes, yes and of course! You can hang anything on your wall!! If it doesn't have something to hang it from, hot glue a coke can tab to it.
I have hung musical instruments on the wall, flute, guitar, tamborine (it's all i had) looks good with framed sheet music!
I have hung pretty siver spoons and forks on the wall {wrap tiny wire around them to hang} and then hang an empty frame over then to frame them out. This turns out so elegant!
Window frame--YES.
Shovels--YES
Footballs and Baseballs {done that too} canoe paddle, old game boards, your sled, oh yeah!!
You could wrap fabric over a canvas {I'll be posting about this one in a few weeks}.
Old keys, empty frame inside of other frames {post to come also} We have an old gun about 3 feet long that is beautiful and has been in the family for over 100 years. I'm looking for a place to hang it and love the idea of it mixed with my toile!
I think those types of things really add to the personality of your home. Email me a photo of what you decide!

LOL, well it doesn't look so bad in the after pic. You actually have it looking pretty good with all the stuff around it, the throw & the pillow. I'm all about frugal too, so can totally relate. Love these projects! I've been on a project roll myself lately.

I was just about to comment on your original chair post to let you know that try as I might, I just couldn't love (or even really like) the chair. But now, it looks pretty good! I like what you've done with it.
As for your to-do list. Wow! It is similar to mine. I never have much of a to-done list as I, too, homeschool, run my husband's business and take care of my elderly mother who just happens to live with me. I admire the fact that you even moved the chair and decorated it. Congrats!

Oooh having the arms covered virtually in paint shop pro is so much better and possibly easier than painting them, then finding you don't like them and having to undo the work just done!
I too have a long list of things to do. And I also tend to hang everything and anything on the walls (I draw the line at the kids, they need to help with chores).

Thank you, I am so glad that you hate this chair! I knew that there were people out there that thought that was an idiotic purchase! I also like when people disagree a little! That's what makes the world go round!
You all do realize that all I did was move the chair and throw a throw on it and a pillow, right? But, I agree, it does look better. As long as I don't get that side view I'm ok.
