Where is that witty title person?

Need some laundry room inspiration?

My sister accomplished a complete room transformation with a few cans of paint and a scrap piece of fabric.

And look what you can do with an old door found at a family farm house.

This project has nothing to do with a laundry room but I must share it with you! Thanks Julie!

These days, my door that used to hang so prettily over the sofa is serving us in a different way. It's blocking the million degree sun from shining into the molten hot playroom. I can't help but thing this was a demotion for her.

Lovely, as always - and yes, I agree. Your poor door, while serving a very important purpose has been demoted.

Still looks great, though!

I saw your sister's newly completed room the other day and love it! It looks not only beautiful but incredibly functional! Me with my laundry "closet" and office "closet," her space is making me totally green. I am anxiously awaiting seeing both of y'all's new rooms.... :o)

She looks to me like she's just getting back to her roots! (Fun for a little while and then she'll be begging to go back on that nice cool wall)

Your sisters room looks awesome! Thanks for sharing the link to the Father's Day gift, maybe I needed that little motivation to get going on the kids' gift to their dad. And your poor door, but I'm sure you will find a solution!!

pretty laundry rooms depress me..lol. Mine is sadly in the garage and nothing will make it pretty or even stay pretty.
NOW FOR DOORS...I LOVE doors!! We do garage sales A LOT. If there happens to be a door I am squealing to a stop and my kids are like.."oh man, theres another door".....Could you ever have too many??? I dont think so :)

A door to keep the sun out - It works lol! Have you seen TLC's new game/show "You're place or mine?" Oh, and Leigh sent me - Nice blog :)

You must be one proud sister! That laundry room looks amazing...again, the wonders of paint!

And, useless info: we have that same blue kitchen...that doesn't get any play...glad I bought it at Tuesday Morning instead of the $1 million dollar set at Pottery Barn Kids. Sigh.

Question about your "mistreatments" - On the ones that are not hanging from a rod and are not just tacked to the wall, what did you hand the clips from? (hope i'm making sense). They were in your bedroom - pictured 2/28/08.

Thanks,
Cate

Sadly, I hardly have a laundry room at all. It's more like a laundry hallway. Oh well. Hers looks super!~

To Traci: maybe you could just make your little section of the garage 'pretty'. I tried to contact you directly, but you are Anonymous:(

I can't wait to see where that door finally ends up. I am working on trying to find myself a door to copy it...I just know my husband is going to have a fit though..."Hang a door on a wall???" lolol ;)

Your sister's laundry room is gorgeous! I'm so envious!

Don't feel bad for your pretty door. Probably she's feeling good about herself because she's being very useful and lending a hand.

Man, if I only had one ounce of your eye for decor! AMAZING!!!

Warning: LONG & WINDY!

Okay I have to start by saying I found your blog last week and I am in ♥LOVE♥ with it!

And I have to admit that when I found it I put my 5 kids to bed and read every post. You have the best decor ideas. You have totally inspired me to "do" something. I just finished some pear urns that were ever so cheap to make & posted them on my blog.

And because of you, I will be wielding a paintbrush loaded with BLACK paint and will be going after some of my big pieces of furniture.

I'm so happy!

Now I only need your help in the curtain dept. I have 6 ft tall 30 inch wide farm house windows that need some serious mistreating. They scare me. I don't know what to do. So I guess for now I'll stick with painting. I KNOW how to do that!

Thanks for all the inspiration!
Me & My house Thank You!.

Your poor door. Maybe you can get some good thick blinds from Home Depot or something to help block the heat. A mistreatment on top couldn't hurt too.... She's doing her part during the move, you don't want to scorch the kids while they're playing....thanks for the laugh. p.s. I found Diva Deb's blog... thank you.

how 'bout "Laundry Quandary - No More" for a title??? I think her room looks great. I'd love to have that much space in my laundry room!

Your sisters laundry room is beautiful and it isn't too often I say that about a laundry room! In our last home our office shared space with the laundry room, but ours definitely wasn't as spacious as hers is!

By the way, I posted pictures of my mistreatments! I'm in love with the kitchen mistreatment and unsure of the family room mistreatment. I'd love the Mistreatment Guru's opinion. ;) (And anyone else's, too!)

I believe you'll come up with a mistreatment very soon and the door will go back to its glory somewhere else!! How is the unpacking and decorating going? When ever you come up with that mistreatment for this window please post!! Nancy

Love all your mistreatment ideas. You are so smart. Thanks for sharing all of these tips with viewers like myself. I do have a question for you. I have an octagon window in my house. I know weird, but I don't know what to do with it. It lets in a lot of light in our master bedroom, so it would need to be covered. I was hoping you had an idea or something. Just let me know. Thanks again. Celeste

Hi. I just found your blog through a link from Laurel Wreath ... and I love it! Three boys ... can't imagine what that is like on a daily basis! :-) I do have one question about the first picture under this post. What color is the paint on the walls? What store did you get that at? It's gorgeous!
Thanks,
Diane
