It's too dark in my bathroom to get a good mistreatment photo so you will have to settle for this. A not so extreme makeover.
Did you see it? This heavy impressive ceramic knob gave me a lot of bang for my buck at $3.50.
They only had two at Hobby Lobby so I tried the other one on my hutch. Transition to shameless promotion. When I hang a garland on it you can't even tell I only have one big knob. It's just hanging here so I can get a good picture. It looks much better on a wall over a bed, hanging as a mistreatment, over a dresser, in the nursery, in the laundry room, in the playroom...
Sold that garland. That's okay, I have more.
Oops, that one sold too. But, I have a few more. Want one? Go to my etsy shop and convo me under contact seller. I can't take any more tassel orders but I can fit a few more garlands in.
Thanks so much for your faithful purchasing of my useless creations. I think that I have made my prettiest stuff ever. It's as if I have been anointed by some creative spirit and beautiful things are flowing from my bleeding finger tips. There's no explaining it. There's no blood either but that added some much needed drama. Have a great weekend! My boys have been at their Gran and Paw Paw's house which is the only reason I've been able to make so much stuff. I get them back today and cannot wait to see them! Heart y'all!

Yeah!!! I'm the first post. Seriously amazing what a knob can do to a piece of furniture. I just ordered knobs to finish off my latest window mistreatment. I used cup hooks to hang my curtains. But then I found cheapo knobs online for $.41 and decided... what the heck. Love the garlands!!
I hope that you enjoy your reunion with your boys.
I love your blog. Thank you for all of your great ideas.
OT: I have a daughter named Landes. She was named after my grandfather, his last name. How did you choose Landis for your son?
Hope your get you computer soon.

Again, is there anything you can't do? You're like the McGuyver of home decorating.
Shameless self promotion, part deux: check out my road trip blog. Me, my 5 year old, 3 dogs, 1500 miles, sanity out the window on about mile 12.
Nester! I have found the secret of seeing your post first!LOL Well it is just the 3 hour time difference!
Love the garlands! Your etsy shop has gone nuts!
Enjoy your boys!
Someday, when I marry a rich man...or buy a winning lottery ticket, I am going to order your tassels for every room of my home.
I am up way too late hoping Nester has scheduled to post at midnight and I am not disappointed! Love the knobs! I obviously need to get to Hobby Lobby more often.
Go Nester Go! Work those fingers to bloody stumps---it will make your tassles all the more valuable knowing that you inflicted life-long injuries upon yourself in their production :)!
That's just me sarcastically saying that your creations are beautiful and every woman who gets one is LUCKY!
Heart ya back!
mom in high heels just called me the McG{scrolling back up for spelling?}uyver of
home decorating. I'm gonna have to go see about her road trip, from my shameless promotion to hers.

Hi amy, hi kelly, hi heathahlee, hi clorissa--your name--Beautiful, he's named after my father in law, Lanny, loving your daughter's name hurray for family names! hi deb--great idea, yes, wouldn't these be pretty for mistreatment or hung over a picture and attaching a ribbon to the picture and hanging it over the knob! Hi Deb!
I've always wanted to do that.
You are so clever. I move to a new old home tomorrow. Hopefully once things settle down for moi and your tassel making will have setteled down and we talk about some tassel for me. My girly girl would love one of thosse garlands. You are inspiring. I will check back next week, lets hope I have internet by then.
I wanna see the bathroom! WAAAAAHHHH!
LOL. Seriously. We do want to see it. Will you be taking tassel orders at a later date? Did you ever advertise the one you had in your bedroom post the other day? You said you would have it in your etsy later in the day, but if so, I missed it.
Thanks!

I just bought the sister of that big knob at hobby lobby. I needed 2 so I got the cheaper ones...just like yours except just round.
We must be sisters.
Love the knob - it looks great against the black desk. Hope you enjoy your reunion with the boys. I know I always enjoy the time mine are gone, but I'm always so ready to have them back home!
The knobs look great. So will you keep the garland on the hutch. I know that one is sold but another one. It looks great. I'm glad to that your priceless decorating items are flying off the shelves. The thoughts of you with no computer are almost too much to bear.LOL Have a great day loving on those kiddos!
ok. you don't need blog titles. your writing style, ideas, and photos speak for themselves! thanks for the endless ideas!
Love your knobs, I love that you are soooo creative. I seriously would love to have your creative talent!
Hey, a little self promotion here... I am doing a toile handbag giveaway at my blog: www.2-sweetboutique.blogspot.com I would love to have you stop by.
Oh, I did put your link in a post of mine the other day...but I'm not sure how to do a linkback. I'm new at this blogging thing.
I will be buying a tassel from you soon! I love the birdy ones...just have to figure out what colors we are using in our new livingroom.
Have a blessed day!
Jackie
Don't you just love Hobby Lobby? I got some awesome black knobs for my armoire and glass ones for my hutch. Much better now!!

I am a first time commenter. I have seen your name "The Nester" almost on all the decorating blogs and even a few mom ones as well. I have been a time or two, but never really looked around. Although last night I spent an entire 2 hours looking and learning how to mistreat some windows and put fabric pieces together to make those garlands!
I am now looking all over my home, looking for a window to mistreat! My first one will be my oldest daughters room, oh the excitment! I am headed to Hobby Lobby today to see what I can find!!
And the garland, that is one of those who woulda thunk it things?!?! I am also gonna try my hand at making one or two. I see them all over the house! Thank you so much for your awesomeness that you are sharing with the not so decor savvy! : )
How about "I'm KNOB done yet!"...lol...just a thought anyway :)
the macguyver comment is a great description! i can totally see it - you have a box of toothpicks, a shoe lace and a hot glue gun, and now i have drapes in my entire home :) lol!
i was surfing etsy yesterday and found other tassle makers - i didn't realize it was such a huge industry :) - yours are the best i've seen though :)
I love the garland. I just can't seem to figure out where I would put one.
Once I finish my dd's room I think one would look lovely in there.
Haha!! You're too cute.
Don't you just love Hobby Lobby for those random finds?
I can't wait to see your bathroom mistreatment. I just spent an hour trying to mistreat my bathroom window. I found some fabric that I love! However, I tried to do the mistreatment thing and it looks hideous. I may just break down and pay someone to sew a curtain for me. Ugh! Defeat is no fun especially when you are defeated by a piece of fabric. The birds on it were laughing at me I think. I love your blog. You are truly talented.

Ladies - for those of you who read the comments like I do ;-) just wanted to say - if you haven't bought anything yet, and have the money to do so GO DO IT! I received my package today (a boy garland, pink starter kit and this tassel (http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=9297841 ) and can I just say the pictures absolutely do not do the tassel justice. I was already in love with it from the picture, but now I love it even more!
Thanks Nester!!
I love those knobs from Hobby Lobby! I actually bought some of those myself in black ! I have a mistreatment I think you'll like if you want to stop over. You are a true inspiration. I love the garland btw! Jen R
I've never heard of Hobby Lobby until this week. You're the second person to post about finding something way cute at that store.
Hooray on your sales!
I was at Hobby Lobby today and I looked at that knob and stood there thinking of which piece of furniture I could put it on, unfortunately I don't have one! Not a single piece of furniture! Bummer, but if I ever get one I am going to copy you!
Laura :)
Never heard of Hobby Lobby? OMGosh, where have you been you poor girl? Trish, hurry, get thee to HobLob on the double, you're totally missing out!
I'll shut up now, that's it for my shameless self promotion... LOL
My tassle arrived today and I love it! Thank you!
Those garlands are pretty cool too.
Hi Nester,
Your friendly blog stalker here! I just think it's adorable that your makeover was a knob. So practical. And it looks divine.
I'm featuring a little window mistreatment over at my place right now. I'm hoping it gets your approval :D
If not, I will tear it down with my bloody stumps.

great knob...I'm a sucker for those...even when I don't need them.
Guess what????!!!!
My tassle came yesterday...and I LOVELOVELOVE it!
It goes so well in our bedroom. Thanks so much!
I'll have to post a picture on my blog of it...I'm in love :)
Wow! I'd be so embarrassed to have you visit my home. I am "decorating challenged." The garlands are beautiful.
Brilliant! What a great idea to share fellow Carolinian! You did a great job with your entire home. Loved finding your blog through Shannon. :)

I love that knob! I have never been terribly good at using older looking stuff in my house since it's pretty clean and modern, but I can totally do something like that! Hope you're well and that you get your computer really soon!
Dear Nester,
I am new to the blogging world and just came across your blog! I love it! Do you sell the black and white bird that is on the bottom right hand corner of your blog? If not, do you know where I could get one? You can email me at the address below.
Thanks!

Dog tassel 228 caught my eye, as it looks like my OLD dog! Now if you can make a Red & White Pembroke Welsh Corgi you'll have a Sell!!!
You're amazing. You have such a way with writing...makes me smile, laugh and want to read more. And your creativity. Awesome.
I just found your blog, and can not leave! You are the smartest girl!SO crafty, I am going to be running to hobby lobby tomorrow to try all these little projects!Thank You for being so creative, and not so technical!Love it!

I just wanted you to know that you inspired me to try my own mistreatment (sortof felt like jumping off a cliff at first).
http://maddenwedding.blogspot.com/2008/07/dont-fear-sewing-machine.html
keep in mind, I have never done anything like this in my entire life
Those knobs are great; I noticed the difference in the 2 pictures, but the close-up really shows how substantial they are; nice find.
Can you send that creative spirit my way? Maybe an anointing would get me off Bloglines and leaving stalkerish comments on your sister's blog!
Love the "mistreatment" term - cafe clips work great for that - no hot glue required! My bedroom window has a cool mauve velvet swag that was really just leftover from a cushion cover.
