Ever wonder what inspired the tag line for Nesting Place?
It was this post written by Heather who I doubt has ever come to this blog. She's dealing with more important things these days. I read that post the summer before I started blogging but the simple message was profound and stuck with me. I love this woman. And I just realized that she'll be at She Speaks. I hope I can meet her and say something impressive like "hello, I adore you."
I also want to address all of your stories yesterday. I acknowledge you. I love you. I read every one and will continue reading as they come in. As heartbreaking as some of them were, I still saw a powerful thread of hope twisted through the stories. This is an exciting time. I'm so glad that you know that Life Doesn't Have to be Perfect to be Wonderful.

What a powerful story she has to tell. What a delight to meet her at She Speaks, and rub shoulders with someone that is opening themselves up for all that God has for them.
thanks for sharing.

I will have to go and read all of those stories. I love your tagline, it sure doesn't have to be perfect ;)
I love Heather, too - I've been reading her story since before she got the actual diagnosis, and she is one of the most inspiring people in the world to me.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for posting this. I used to visit her blog and then lost the url. I am so glad to have found it again. She is an inspiration.

love it when you go deep Nester. Fun Fluff and Decorating and Beauty are all the MORE Gorgeous when the water runs deep.
Hope. Good News.
It is everywhere. Always has been.
Are you kidding me! I LOVE your blog! Are you going to be at SheSpeaks? If so, I would love to hug your neck!

Mercy Me she's left me a comment! No worries, I just sent her a gushing email.
Heart you heather!
Awesome! If we wait for perfect to be happy we will never be happy. Hmmm...methinks I might have to do a post about the subject sometime soon. I always think of the choices we make and it isn't "is my life good or great or perfect" but do I choose to see it with the "Happy Goggles" or those OTHERS!
PS-I am gonna try to filch a picture out of a book I picked up for a great 'mistreatment' idea to send you. :P
I am going to go over and check her out. I love your motto. Jen
I'm not famaliar with her - I guess I need to check her blog out!
You are a wonderful and inspiring person, and I can tell by the number of followers you have that many more people before me have thought so too!
Kim
MmmmwhaaaH girl. I love ya! Great posty:)

What a wonderful story. I'm amazed at how often I need to be reminded that perfection isn't important! Ug. If only I could learn it once!
Thanks for introducing her to me. I just read her story. She is such an inspiration!
Amen to that, mama! This life on earth is never going to be perfect. How can it be when it's filled with sinful people and riddled with ungodliness? Not to mention that the people evaluating whether or not our lives are pefect - us - are sinful, too. How great it is that one day we'll all have a gorgeous mansion filled with love and loveiness, pleasure and joy. Best landlord ever, too. ;o)
I'm looking forward to meeting and hearing her at She Speaks! Only a hundred and 40 something days until we go! Woohoo!
Hugs,
Susan
So fun to "meet" the person that inspires you!
Aw, I hate I missed the post yesterday. I'll have to go back and read through the comments. I'll have to go to Heather's post and read up, too.
hey nester, i have some pictures for you. and i wanted to say thank you again for giving me the courage to buy my first yard of fabric.
when i first found your site a few months back it was like, "ok, i believe this girl! i'm going to do what she is saying."
making a house a home is such a sweet gift to our family and thank you for helping a sister out with some awesome ideas!
Amen Nester!!
I just adore your tag line. It is so true in life.
Please stop by and enter my giveaway.
Your tag line is a wonderful one! Thanks for sharing how you came to adopt it.
It is a great motto for decorating and for life!!
Wow, that is quite a story. What courage she seemed to have at the time and what a nice outlook she has. Thank you for sharing that.
I also appreciated your previous post about the economy. It IS hard these days. Ya know I always thought that the economy didn't really truly matter to MY life. I thought it was all about numbers and I didn't really think that numbers would have anything to do with people. It does matter and it hurts people, yet I feel it has made me a stronger, more concious person. Thank you for wanting to hear peoples stories, it's nice to get it all out.
Have a wonderful day!
I'm gonna go pick up my house so my mental state can be a bit more clear.
She does have a powerful story. When I was growing up, it was a difficult childhood. All I wanted was to be happy. Then I found the man of my dreams who made all my dreams come true.
It is the little things in life that make you happy. My family, my home and my friends.
Cynthia
You are so cool!!
"Life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful"... I love that! My hubby and I don't have much money right now, but as cheesy as it sounds we have a ton of love and laughter. And I know we're going to look back on these days as some of the happiest of our lives. :)
I just found your site a few days ago... Heather and her family were a part of our church family for a season a few years back. What a small world!
I can personally vouch that Heather is an amazing woman. Like you, I'm constantly inspired by her and was THRILLED at the opportunity to work with her on her design.
She is gracious, kind and an encouragement to this mom and fellow homeschooler.
I consider it a privilege to "know her" -- in the virtual sense, anyway! :)
Thanks for sharing that, I want to go check out her blog. One thing I have learned from my experiences this past year was that I could not wait for things to be like I wanted them to be for me to be happy again. Hard lesson but it's so true, it really doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful.
I love that post. I can't wait to check out the rest of the blog. And how exciting to know she'll be at She Speaks. I hope you get to see/meet her!
Nester, you're great.
Heather truly is an amazing woman. I'm so jealous that you get to meet her in real life!
So true! Life is a gift...now go out there and live it!
