I'm in love with myself. It doesn't happen very much. But, look how the hutch turned out...Y'all sure did pick the right paper! I loved that black and white damask too and was off to get enough for all three shelves and lo and behold, my Hobby Lobby only had enough for two selves. I took that as a sign that I needed to get that other black and white and use it too--just like some of you smarty pants said I should! I am so happy with it!
Why, oh why didn't I do this three years ago? I could just kick myself. But, I won't because I love myself so much.
I also love me because the adorable bunny tassel looks darling in this room now. Or, at least it will look good until one of you purchase it .
I even had to go and trade window mistreatments with my living room so I could focus on the black and white! I love to mix it up at home and I've gotten lots of mileage out of my neutral silk drapes. You can see just the corner of them. I took the birdcages out of another room too, it's not illegal to steal from Petette and pretty up Pauline. And this is what the room looked like within 30 seconds of me finishing up.Just look at those golden tobacco road walls! Did you think of me last night when that girl on American Idol sang Tobacco Road?
Sometimes I just love me

SO FUNNY that you should mention the Tobacco Road song because I TOTALLY thought of you. Not just sayin'. The paper looks divine and the drapes...*big sigh*. You have such a gift.
Girl, you could go do those drapes right this moment! I cut them, folded the top 12 inches over and glued beaded fringe on the top. You can do that!!!!
I love the color because when the sun shines through, it's like light from heaven! So bright!
I am so inspired by you!! You just make it all look effortless. I've been following the blog for a few weeks now and I'm addicted! I've even done a few window "mistreatments" :)
Your entire dining room is gorgeous, not just the hutch. But, I DO absolutely love the combination of papers.
I also love that four-legged table centerpiece. Do they have those at Hobby Lobby, too? I could use a couple more.
Looks great!! Your are the queen of decor. We will be moving soon and will most likely get a fixer-upper. When that happens I will probably check your blog hourly for ideas.
Wow, what a fabulous looking room! It all came together so beautifully! I was actually going to vote for one of the bluish colored papers, but I never got sidetracked- good thing! It looks awesome!
Nester. I love the bunny tassel. Come visit me cause think that he wants to come to my house. Your favorite Etsy cusomer......Your hutch looks amazing. What a simple way to add to it and to change it out!!!!! You are a decorating genius!!!!!
I swear I'm gonna buy some fabric tomorrow and do these window mistreatment's this weekend!
Thanks for the inspiration!!!
This is one of the cutest rooms I've seen, ever ever.
I personally love the oval mirror with plant on stand, even though the paper backings are the star of your post.
good job!

Your dining room looks gorgeous. But I have to say my favorite part is the kid on top of the dining table. Too funny!
Love it love it love it...i hate matchey matchey so the multiple patterns look fabulous. I love Hobby Lobby, but we don't have one in Northern Virginia. I have to go to Dallas to visit my sister to get my fix. Did you use your glue gun to adhere the paper to the hutch? Glad you love you cause we love you, too. ;)
I thought of you too, when the girl sang Tobacco Road, but it was also more of a, "I've got to paint my house TR so it looks more like the Nester's," thought.
Can I say I am really relieved to see the picture of your son in the table with his toys 30 seconds after you'd beautified the hutch? Befor I saw it, I was seriously about to ask you how you keep your house clean AND looking really good (decoratively) with three busy boys. I'm still wondering...how do you do it? Especially when they're home all day being homeschooled? I've given up trying to make my house look nice without stringing the kids to the ceiling with duct tape all day (yes, that includes the baby) because they have totally taken over! (Yes, I realize this comment is way too long.)
Your hutch looks good. You're brilliant. You should love yourself--you deserve it. Did you just tape the paper in with double-stick tape to make it easier to change?
Love it! Looks awesome! I love your white dishes btw and the little arrangement you have on the wall. Very funky.
I love this idea, and I love that your son is on top of the table. That looks like something mine would do.
We all love you...Beauuuutiful!!!
Okay...let me get this straight...the neutral silk drapes came from the living room, and the red checks are in the family room, or are they in the bed room??? The blue and tan silk plaid are in Emily's house...so where are the blue check drapes with white fringe that were in the dining room? I'm soooo going to learn to mistreat my windows so that I can change my rooms when the notion strikes! I think I'll pick neutrals! And, I'm going for my tobacco road sample tomorrow. You really are making this decorating thing easier!! I think you need to make some tassels that have a cute little sign that says "the Nester was here!" I'd hang it in the hallway...with an upholstery tack, of course!
Aubrey,
like I said in the email, when one room is clean the rest are covered in feces and rats nests. It's all an illusion.
kimberly,
You almost have it right
Red checks: Family Room
Blue with beige bullion fringe: started in the dining room and today I moved them to the front (living) room
Neutral silk plaid: one panel is in my kitchen, two in the homeschool room and two were in the living room until today when I put them in the dining room.
I LOVE to mix up my stuff! I am always surprised at how well it all works together!
I so LOVE this room, it RAWKS and what a good idea with the paper! I love it all and you've got it together with 4 little guys running around. I have 4 of my own, but we're evenly divided for now. Just love it all.
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! I'm working on a window mistreatment right now -- but my fabric is just not quite FULL enough .... but I have piles o' fabric to go through. LOVE your ideas ~ and your WIT!
I am at this moment trying to convince my husband that we need to pain the entire interior of our house "Tobacco Road"
Love the paper! It looks great. I must say I am so happy to see your child on your table with some things out of place. It's nice to see it's not so perfect all the time. I was starting to feel like a total slob!
So thought of you during AI.
Room looks great. I'm over here tonight because I have to do a talk on decorating tomorrow night and I need to put the finishing touches on it. You're my muse!
:)
Gorgeous...
Love the paper. What a great idea. I so wish I had a sideboard, but... no room, even if I did.
Your pictures look so beautiful online... like a magazine. What do you think it is? Light? Camera choice? Just curious... and jealous.
Jen
Is the bunny tassel spoken for yet? Because I would love to have it! Do you still have my email?
LOVE this idea...so easy but such impact. Have to say I also LOVE the white plates on the wall!!!! Very clean, cottage look. I could actually do that this weekend. I have kinda mossy green walls....that would work. Awesome room....your ideas are great. They are ideas that real women that live in the real world and have a real budget can do!!!!
I love yourself, too. It just looks so great. Can't wait to see it in real life like.
And yes...American Idol...Tobacco Road...The Nester. Absolutely went there.
And just to be the annoying little sister...Are those window mistreatments falling off the wall? Just wonderin.
Love it, love it, love it. And I really like how you alternated the pattern. Very eye catching. Girl, do you just walk around your house looking for something to transform on a daily basis???
Ahhh, love love love. Okay, I'll be over for dinner because that room has to be the most gorgeous place to sit and enjoy yourself. Though, wait, I probably wouldn't even be able to sit in it. I wouldn't wanna mess it up. ;o)
Gorgeous!
Wow, the whole room looks spectacular!
OMG! I totally did!! I chuckled when I heard it, and wondered if you got the proof for your card ;)
I did think of you when I heard that song! And I happened to have Tobacco Road all over my hands at the time because I spent the whole day painting it on my walls. I'm almost done, and it looks soooooo good.
The paper shortage was meant to be because I think it looks great with 2 different patterns. Well done.
That is so gorgeous!!! LOVE the paper!!
Yes, I thought of you when I heard her singing Tobacco Road.
PS I love stealing from one room to freshen up another.
I'll tell you a secret, since we're friends:
You are all fantastic at decorating and stuff, but that has nothing really to do with why I read you. Is that ok? I read you because you crack me up.
Can I just tell you how much I'm in love with your blog?? Please come do my house! Everything is so pretty and comfortable looking. Where did you find the silk plaid drapes? I know there are some in Country Curtains.
Have a great day!
Oh! how I love your cupboard. I think it just looks smashing darlin! I actually think now that I am looking...that it worked out for the better with the two different prints instead of just all of one.
I love black and white prints especially black and white toile. The tassel is beautiful by the way as well.
I love the picture of your son on the table. This is so like my children glad you posted that. It's like they are on a raft swarming shark infested waters or something.
Hugs~ Renee
Let's see if this works this time. I tried replying twice yesterday and my browser froze.
I love what you did. And I adore decorative birdcages.
Really lovely.
I am just starting to get caught up.
I love what you did with your hutch. Your whole dining room looks so elegant. The bunny tassel is adorable and adds the perfect whimsical touch ;-)
You're dinnig room looks great. I normally have kids all over mine too!

Looks great! I am going to drag Kimberley to hobby lobby on Tuesday to get some paper.
Gorgeous! The hutch, and the whole room. Wow. Can you come decorate for me???
I love your guts Nester! I'm so glad you love you. I have had the flu for 2 days and I actually missed you girl...my husband knew I was really sick when I wasn't on my laptop for 2 days. It's not fair being 8 months pregnant and getting the flu. Poor me.
p.s. I am so glad you used Priscilla (that's how Priscilla Presley spells it) instead of tape. My poor Stanleah has been so neglected and hasn't seen any action since the Hula Bed.
Hey,
Thanks for checking out my blue sofas. I needed your thumbs up! :)
As you can tell, patterns are limited at the moment til I fall in love with something, some fabric, some pillows, something... I've yet to come across it, though. "Patience, my pet." I want to really love what I buy. When I look around my house, everything has a story, everything is LOVED. And I'd like to keep it that way! And so, I have my eyes open.
Had to tell you this, though - last year I DID go crazy with the blue and white dishes, bowls, etc... - and they are all stacked in my cabinets! We eat on them every night, as mismatched as they are. Every pattern is pretty - and they are all blue and white and they look great with my cobalt blue dinner glasses and goblets.
I almost put some of my favorite dishes up on the walls, but then I thought - I would miss eating on them! So, there's a good justification for more shopping!! :) "The Nester said..."
I was also given a beautiful plate rack recently, which I'm waiting to hang until I find "the" plates. I think I may hit the online china shop I used last time... you've inspired me again.
Thanks!
Jen
Hi! So I am a new poster but have been addicted since your brother-in-law (whom i went to college/grad school with) sent me to your cute sis' site, and then i found yours!
Question: As a newlywed with lots of new pretty china, how shall I store it? Are traditional china cabinets out?
Wow, I love what you did to the huthc! I have 2 little boys, and have been trying to "beautify" despite their destruction. This gives me hope.
I like how you didn't even mention the centerpiece on your table! LOL!
I like the hutch - I'm alrady thinking of things I can do this to!
I'm so glad that you love you cause I love your blog. I just found you and you have a lovely blog. Great job on the black & white.. be back soon

Have a blessed day!
smiles, kari & kijsa
Found you just now through Rhoda...your room is amazing. I love your paperbacked hutch. The papers are wonderful...and the rest of the room, well, it looks as if came straight out of a magazine!
I just stumbled onto your Blog. Fantastic. Thank you for this post. I have a few Hutches in my living room that this would make a Terrific project. I really Love your son on the Table the most, I swear that is my boy all the time. I can just hear myself and my husband asking him not to sit and play on the table...Jamie
Gorgeous! That room just pops!
I need to weed out some things and get focus in my dining room. I also need to get off of the computer and CLEAN my dining room.
Jen
that is beautiful. The room could be in a magazine!
Hi, just want to say how much I enjoy your blog and seeing how you creatively decorate your nest! I LOVED the idea of using scapbook paper to line the back of your china cabinet. I recently used the idea to line my pantry cupboard and instead of cringing every time I open my cupboard now I actually smile!
I so wish you would update your blog. I have so enjoyed it, but each time I come back - it's the same old one.
Shelia, I wonder if you have me bookmarked for this date/post? I update 3-4 times a week look at the address at the top and delete anything after blogspot.com/ You should have lots of reading material.
Or, just click "home" at the bottom of this post.
Is it okay for me to say I'm in love with you too? Or at least that hutch and all of the goodies in it. Love it!
