I'm sorry. This wedding of my husband's cousin has taken over my life for the last week and we are still recovering. It is the only thing I can write about right now. My house is a complete disaster. My closet looks like a Target shopping Paris Hilton threw up. My bathroom looks like CVS threw up.
Oh, look! There's my dress! Now, I was not in the wedding party mind you. I was the decorator-- just the way I like it. But there it is for those of you who wanted to see it.
Now this is what I want to shout off the rooftops. Does anyone have connections with the evening news? I really need to inform the world that for the first time in at least 10 years I fit into something that was supposedly a size 2. Ignore the fact that it says 'stretch'. Ignore the fact that everyone's dress size is smaller than their pant size. A size 2 people!!!
Somehow, I am the only person who can wear a size 2 and still look puffy and big. No, I know that I'm not overweight by any stretch but hello, I think I have cellulite from the tip of my nose down to my big toes. I would rather be a size 12 and tall and toned.
So, here is just about the best photo I have of my and my honey. I have no idea what I am doing to him but, it looks like some annoying wife thing. And if you were wondering no, it didn't tornado but it did rain like dickens. My honey and I drove separately so I could pack my entire house back into my SUV after the reception. It rained so hard on the way that you didn't know whether to laugh or cry. On the interstate I didn't know whether to stop or go but for some reason stopping felt more dangerous. I dropped the two boys that I had with me off under the overhang at the church so they could stay dry. Of course, the first brother fell out of the car into 5 inches of murky water and then the second brother stepped on him.
After locating the one parking spot left that was furthest from the church doors I threw on my hoodless raincoat, grabbed my umbrella, then realized that I didn't have an umbrella and grabbed a pair of bright pink sweat pants to put over my head and RAN in four inch heels, in the rain with puddles of rain that were I think at least 25 inches deep. In these shoes.
There was thunder and lightning and all kinds of commotion and the lights even blinked right before the wedding. Here is a photo of my adorable sister in law and her husband. Here are the fruit of our combined loins...
Oh, and just in case you want to see who this entire day and weeks and months of planning and Hobby Lobby shopping was for...
The Bride and Groom--during the bubble blowing walking to the car, because it was raining like the dickens and they couldn't ride off on his Harley thing.
Despite the rain, the wedding took and she was simply breathtaking.

1. Wow, your SILs hubby still looks like Ross. And, according to myheritage.com, so do I.
2. Cute, cute bride. Cute. So cute.
3. Are your shoes posing in your shower?
I bet it was still a lovely wedding! ANd WTG on the size 2!
Wedding-shmedding, I am stuck on the fact that you are a 2.
My self esteem just plummeted, because I am female, and I compare myself to others. The fact that you have pretty window mistreatments, and also self control when it comes to food... This is too much for me.
I am going to go console myself with a few crunches. And also lunges. And perhaps some deep knee-bends, or something.
WOW..what a huge closet!!! I love your blog and truly think I would just love you to pieces in real life but sorry, I dont feel sorry that you are a size TWO and feel "puffy"..lol....nope, sorry. I dont even care if its a BIG size TWO..lol
I know the wedding was just gorgeous due to your talent. Cute hubby by the way...he looks a lot like my hubby...maybe thats why I think hes cute.tee hee
I have a couple size 2 pairs of pants that I hang onto because I just know that someday they're gonna fit again. Ya, right, who am I kidding (myself I guess). Anyhoo, you all look fabulous and your closet is huge and that carpet under your dress is gorgeous! Is that an area rug??
Also, I hope it's okay, but on my blog I linked to your post about picture groupings.
Thanks for sharing those pics - even the one of the closet. LOL The bride was beautiful and I'm sure the wedding was lovely. You have the magic touch.
Well 2 is great, but I am a size 0! (if I cross of the 1 in front of it ;)!).
It looks like it was a great wedding--rain and all. Fun to see the out and about side of you!
I wanna be a size 2. Even if it means I'm a puffy size 2. Rain on your wedding day means good luck, so I guess a torrential downpour means... better than that? lol Bet it was a beeeutiful wedding!
Cute shoes.
Cute husband.
Cute bride.
What the heck were you holding your poor husband's chin for?
I was reading this post in silence...smiling and nodding...and then I read the part about unloading the boys and all the falling and stepping on, etc. I BURST (or is it busted? or bust?) out laughing! I think I actually spit in my laptop. Very disconcerting.
Anywho- very good post. Love all the pics. You guys are all adorable. I think I was a size two in first grade. Maybe not.
Hugs,
Angel
Size 2? Wow, did you leave the tag poking out of your dress? Such a cute family!
Random thoughts on your post: Um, a size 2??? A size 2?!?!? I have not seen that in like 7 years...I'm turning green over here with jealousy.
It DOES look like your shoes are posing in the tub! haha!
It's good luck to have rain on your wedding day! And to think how hard it rained on this one!
Do we get to see the wedding decorations?
Oh, I forgot...most importantly...tell the bride she looked very beautiful! So elegant and feminine!
all lovely photos. though i do not see you wearing the dress in the photos.
i wear a size two also and it is just a strange trick of the sizes because i have been a size two forever so obviously the size has just grown with me. because i have bulges. boy do i.
i've got a whole post dedicated to your inspiring wisdom.
I am 200 lbs of gestational love right now...a puffy size 2 sounds amazing! Do you think when the baby comes on March 28 I can borrow your dress to wear home from the hospital? ;-)
You and Hubs are such an adorable couple, Nester! The bride looked stunning, and rain is lucky for a wedding day - but not always for the 'do. ;o) She looks radiant, so no worries for that!
Happy St. Pat's, mama lady!
P.S. Okay, I just saw your sis's comment about myheritage.com and her and Ross...LOL! Don't worry, Emily, my husband forgot to set the gender thing with mine and I ended up with Bill Cosby as a match?? HAHA! Really thought I was more of a Raven-Symone.
I can't get past the size 2.
Except to say that the bride is absolutely gorgeous and looks so radiant. Oh, and I would love to see pictures of the decorations, too!
Such good pictures the bride and groom look so happy. Like the other comment I too laughed out loud when I read about your sons falling and stepping on each other. It's just something that would happen to mine too. As for your closet mine unfortunately looks like that almost all the time. And yes I'm jealous that you are a size 2. I never even saw that number in my wardrobe ever! I went from children's size BIG to a size 10. As NAPOLEAN DYNAMITE would say LUCKY!
The boys especially looked adorable. Had to say it.
And oh, the bride was beautiful - so worth it all!
ohhhhhh, THANK YOU for all the pictures!! I adore wedding details and you fully delivered the goods! It would be fun to see your decorations, too. . .
I'm surprised at how many people are stuck on the size 2 thing (says the size 12 tall girl and fine with that).
seems it turned out lovely---and so are you nester!
Nice pics! The bride looks happy! Are those three boys triplets or two of them twins, or are they just very close together? All the children are cute!
CuuUuUUuuute dress! I'll try not to hate you for being a size 2, it might take me some time to get past it but I'll do my best. =)
Miss you!!!
Ugh. I have never been a size two. Ever. Since I was two. Probably not even then. I'm so depressed, I'm going to go eat a Toaster Strudel, which, thanks to you, Size 2, I'm now hooked on. Sort of. They're kind of buried in the freezer and I'm kind of lazy.
That reminds me of a weird dream I had not long ago. In it, you came to my house and I felt really bad because I'd just eaten the last Toaster Strudel in the house. (Which, in real life, I had.) I think I was also really embarrassed that you saw my house in real life. And your name was Tina, and in the dream, I was thinking, 'Yeah, that totally fits!' but that doesn't mean I really think your name is Tina. And I've remedied the Toaster Strudel crisis and now have five boxes of assorted flavors resting peacefully in my freezer, thanks to a nice sale at the local grocery store.
Really, if it wasn't 1:42 in the morning, I'd probably eat one now, but sometimes I have to listen to Oprah about not eating three hours before going to bed and going there at 4:42 wouldn't fly.
(I just had to go look up "Strudel" on the box to make sure I was misspelling it correctly.) (I was.) (So sad.)
I hope you took pictures of your decorating skill at the wedding--but even without seeing it, I'm sure it was beautiful.
Whewwww, I'm glad I'm not the only one with that closet. Really, just like it. Cute dresser IN the closet, nice little baskets on the shelf, and shoes and clothes all over the floor. Thanks for showing us the good, the bad and the ugly. That's a real friend.
