BEFORE: at least they had the sense to use hot glue, that junk peeled right offDURING: 2000% better
AFTER: don't you want to fight me for it?

Wow I don't even get what all that stuff on it is supposed to be in the before picture. Talk about a major improvement! :)
I would have looked at it, cursed the person who glued that crap on there and walked away. Obviously you are smarter. And craftier.
you are crafty...and you have even more spare time than me! do you take alot of sugar in your morning coffee??
it turned out so pretty...i think i have one of those cages around here somewhere......
What an improvement, you and I are very similar, we look for the diamonds in the rough! From $2.99 to priceless! I want it!! So cute. Did they seriously keep the tissue in the bow as to not wreck it? Oh my, good thing you rescued this poor baby! I can't wait for yard saling season either! I will have to post about my good finds one of these days, you will love them! I love my new tassle by the way, althouh I think I need more, I wanted to put it in too many places!
very nice! I love it.
Oh My sweet husband finally decided to give in to the barn star craze and was at the store to get one but they just had too many colors to choose from, lol!
YES! They left that nasty snot rag looking junk in the bow so it would look 'good'. INSANE?
This project took about 22 seconds.
Wow. I don't even know what to say about the before picture. Everything that comes to mind is too mean. Just, wow.
I love the after, though!
Bird cage is amazing...but la musica รจ incredibile!!!
love,
your Italian friend
Big difference!! don't you just love those kind of projects!!! I am new to blogging and have been coming and reading your blog and I am so enjoying it!!
Too cute.
So that's tissue paper in the before shot? You don't even want to know what I thought it was.
Blanca
Haha... I thought it had dirty laundry glued to it at first.
I love it. Where are you going to put it?
How do you do it? How did you find it? Does everything I donate to the thrift store end up in your home...redone and completely gorgeous?! :)
What a difference! It looks beautiful now!
LOL..that poor birdcage needed you sooooo badly!!! I just LOVE iT.
I couldnt figure out what all that crap was either.
This is so cute! Were those people that had it before seriously thinking that it was cool to decorate it like that???
I thought I was at the wrong blog... different music was playing! If I didn't like you so much I'd hate you! You are fantabulous! :o)
Oh. My. Word. How cute is that?? Nice, very nice...
Yes--yes I do want to fight you for it! I bet you'd have to pay $100 for something "earthy" like that at the pottery barn! VERY CUTE!
Though, I'm sure that the "before" one would have been super stylin' about 22 years ago!
Wow, did they think it looked "good" the way they had it decorated. It looks fabulous now!!! And I love the change in music.
Looks so much better now!! I am with the first poster-it looked like it had colored cotton balls on it. You have made it proud again. Love the bird!
Elise
Oh my goodness - that was a tragic "before" - you rock the "after". Why don't thrift stores have that good stuff here????
Hello, are you the person that bought my birdcage? HaHaHa - Just kidding! It looks so fabulous. I love your music and I feel like I have been to your house! It's wonderful.
Nancy
so cute! i need to do that in my empty birdcages.
oh yeah. you have that ability to see potential in things. i have to squint really hard to see a future in most junk.
You want to hear something scary? I think my mom made something similar to the before 'thing' way back when. Of course she has much better sense now. She even has a very pretty birdcage.
I'd fight you and Jennifer P. for it, but I'm 110% positive I'd lose.
Where were you when I was getting rid of my stuff last year???
I got rid of a ton of stuff simiular to that not too long ago.
I NEVER thought I could just "re-do" it. Boy, am I dumb! I could have saved myself so much money.
Thanks for sharing and teaching us to think outside the box!
Susan
Alright that's it, we're breaking up. You suck - but in a fantastic kind of way.
LOL! Love ya, you RAWK!
P.S. My buffet table arrives tomorrow. I'm sad to say it cost more than 2.99.
What the heck WAS that stuff!! Nice save!!
My lord, Honeychild! I can't believe someone actually used that as decor! It reminds me of things my Stepmom would make for Xmas gifts! I was always scared to open it! HeeHee! I loved what you did! Where do you have it?
LOVE IT! I'll give ya more. Gorgeous!
It's so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes!
I love Blogland! I am new to it (Leslie is my sister and has been showing me all of these blogs for months now.) The birdcage is precious ...NOW. I would love to meet the person that did the "Before"-Just to find out what they were thinking:D
Okay, chickie poo, that is simply divine. Really...I would NEVER have thought of that. I love coming to your blog, you make me think outside the box. My Momma always told me, if you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing at all, so I will leave it's before state alone.
What WAS it? It looks like it was filled with toilet paper?????
I love the new look... but isn't a bird supposed to be INSIDE a cage? *lol* Just kidding.. ;)
greetings from the netherlands!
You inspire me! Yesterday at work I bought a black box with a framed lid that had hunks knocked off the corners...I thought what would The Nester do with this? She would hot glue something fabulous to hide those chipped corners. So I snapped it up for a buck, original price $19.99!!! Next up a knee high pink folding metal round top table... What would The Nester do with this? She would paint it some fabulous color then paint it again in another color then wipe it off in spots with a paper towel, so I quickly snapped the table up for another buck...Both items are naturally then discounted another 15% as it was an employee sale (can you see me grinning ear to ear?), lol Thanks for all your inspiration!!!! I can't wait to get started making over these diamonds in the rough!
WOW! I love it!
Is it just me or all we all mad that Jean gets to work at Hobby Lobby!!?
And your right mrs. smartypants--Linda--that bird must have escaped!
Right now I've got it on top of my armouire (it is against my religion to spell that word correctly)
That stuff was papertowels and old plastic grocery bags stuffed in so the ribbon would keeps its lovely shape!
Oh, and leanne, taking that ribbon off only took about 25 seconds! Hot glue RAWKS!
Welcome melanie, leslie's sister--I am so glad you both are here!
Hey, Nester! You and I would be fighting over the same things. But, my house is full now, so I do have to pass up stuff a lot of the times. I still can't wait to get out there to see what I can find.
Love the birdcage redo, you always do great work!
have a happy Easter!
Rhoda
Oh, that is so beautiful - yes, I want to fight you for it! :)
Quite a transformation, I must say!
What was that junk on it anyway?!
I sure would wrastle (wrestle in normal English) you for it! You did that bird cage a great service, taking that gawd awful thing off of it :) LOL
Rue
I love the rework of your birdcage. I have the same cage with a nest & bird in it. I love what you did so much better!! Thanks for being so inspiring!
