E-idiot

Another shameless plug for myself. Not only that, a plea for your help as well.

I've got some cutie patootie size 6 boys clothes up for auction on ebay. Feel free to bid. However, when I try to search for my auction--I cannot find it! I can only see it in my ebay. What have I done? I don't know why I even try to sell on ebay, I'm sure I will get a call from them asking me to never try to sell again. Do you think they call? Maybe I'll get a telegram or better yet, a candy gram.

Oh, and I've got my favorite boys coat of all time listed as well--can't find it either. Farewell sweet boys clothes--then again, maybe I'll get to keep them.

Sometimes it takes a bit for it to show up in the search if you've just listed it. I did the same thing the first few times I listed an item so maybe that's it? LOL

I bid. Please let me win. My boy needs some cute clothes badly. His mama didn't prepare last year very well for this fall.
When you're ready to sell your summer stuff, contact me and we'll make a deal. That will save you the problems of eBay.

i love the coat! size 5 is about what milo will need this winter.

too bad you don't have some maternity jeans. that's what i'm searching for on ebay right now.

Yep - it can take a while for the listings to show up in the search results... I think that is shows up right away when people search for items listed by you or if they are looking through the categories (instead of using the search function).

Good luck on selling them - wish my youngest was just a tad bigger... then I'd bid too! :-)

Oops - looks like I was wrong... you can't find it in a category search either - not until it has been indexed and added to all of ebay's databases. The only way to find them is by item number... and it looks like it can take up to 24 hours before they show up in a regular search!

Hmmm... wonder how that works with a 24 hour auction?!? Good thing you are listing yours for 7 days. LOL...

I want that coat. It is so cute! Do you think it would be appropriate for a little girl?

I think it was just too new... I just searched under "boys lot 6" and it came up on the last page with a little sunshine next to it that said NEW! GOOD LUCK!

oh, oh it is finally there! Thanks so much--I guess it just took 12 hours to show up!

polly--that is a good idea--I'll never remember but maybe I will. Skipping ebay would be wonderful!

Thanks for bidding y'all. Now this post is truly a shameless plug.

PS, chickadee, I found some great maternity jeans {by accident} at our local salvation army!!!! I almost bought them because they were super cheap, super cute and I knew I would know someone who would want them. Shooot!

Nester, totally unrelated... where is the post about children painting on canvas? I think the picture was a sage green background with a tan circular design on it? Thanks!

Uhh...don't be contacting Pollys when you want to sell more, my dear sister. I'll buy your durn boy clothes from you. Ebay. Should be "emily bay".

Save yourself trouble and sell them to your fans here!! I have a 6yrs old boy and a 4yr old boy. I totally think it is easier to it this way.

ACK! Why didn't you list these last week - before I bought a size 6 wardrobe for my oldest?!

Good luck!

sister, I saved a few of the cutest most darling things for you. cept for the coat because I was curious to see what I could get for it.

How ironic! I posted 13 items on eBay yesterday and ONE of them can only be found on "my ebay" (the other 12 have no problems). I searched the HELP menu and it said that it can take up to 24 hours for an item to be found. UM...What?! That's plain weird. Maybe they were just having a few glitches yesterday. Hopefully we'll be able to find our stuff today. :)

BTW... we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the fishy tassle! You rock! I hope to post photos of it on my blog later this morning.

Awww, I wish my son was size 6 again (for more reasons than one!)...

My 18 yr. old would be calling me computer inept!! But, I think they probably just haven't shown up yet.
I love the coat!!!

ooh, I am going to see how that goes for you and maybe list a big bunch myself. I no longer have the patience to list a bunch of seperate auctions anymore. I guess one big one would be easier. Please post what you got for that lot!

Good luck with your sale. I haven't tried to sell anything on ebay yet, so I'm good for nothing when it comes to advice. I sure know how to buy there though!

My kidlet has just outgrown size 6... sigh! They grow too fast.

That coat is fabulous! You know, I love dressing my little Amelia in dresses and girlie clothes. But there are some totally adorable boy clothes out there. Maybe this time around I'll have a boy...

Until the last six months I never had a problem finding things I listed immediately on ebay. Now though, they must've gone fancy or something because I have the same problem as you. When I list stuff it will take a long time for them to show up anywhere but under "my ebay." I did the online chatting with a representative even and they gave me the line about it taking up to 24 hours. Eventually it did show up. Good luck with your items.

Love your blog so much I would like to pass on an award to you. Just swing by my place to pick it up. It is under the post titled: "More awards from Grams".

Thanks for sharing with all of us other bloggers. I hope you have a wonderful day.

No, they don't call.
No, they don't send telegrams.
They just send nasty emails telling you that your Homeschool Teacher's Editions are "illegal" items for sale. ??? (Yes, we all know how dangerous those homeschool books are, not to mention the "teachers" that use them.) Boy, was I put out when I found out about that "new" rule.
Anyway, good luck on your auctions!

I don't even have boys but I want that coat! Do you think 1 of my 4 girls might like it! No, it's not pink!

Good Luck!

Whenever you have the word Gap in your title, you're are certain to be showing up several hours -- maybe 12 hours later. Ebay told me about a year ago it was because Gap makes sure all of the listings are authentic, not knock off China made items being sold. So evidently they have a bunch of Gap experts going through all listings ensuring that they are the real deal, that's why it takes so long.

By the way, not to tell you how to run your auctions, but you really should upload your photos to photobucket.com for free and then you can put as many photographs on your auctions page as you want, you don't pay an extra. You know ebay charges for every photo after the first free one. This way you could have 20, 30 even 40 photographs up on your auctions page and they are big photos, not like the small ones ebay provides. You can check out my sold items my user id is 3*in*gap and you can see how big your photographs can get. If you need help, contact me through my blog or ebay!! happy to help.

I'm excited to be doing my first mistreatment this week. I'll be sending photos through this week.

annon, I got that same email! I was selling what I now know to refer to as "parent edition" math book for 1st grade. Wow, I sure am glad that ebay has taken it upon themselves to make sure that the 1st graders of the world don't cheat and purchase the teachers edition on ebay!

I am stumped when it comes to all things ebay. I've sold a few things there and I never really know what I am doing. Have you ever tried Craigslist? There are no fees involved and I've had better luck selling things there. It's all local too so no worries about finding time in a busy day to run to the post office.
Can you tell I like craigslist? And I didn't even get paid to write this comment. :)

Can you believe that I have never used Ebay to shop or sell, I know I am a bit behind. I love your clothes for a boy by the way. Your home is just great, I love the decorating that you have done. Come over and give me a few suggestions, I would so appreciate it.

Hi Nester!
Totally unrelated but I was inspired by the POOPY party to do something faux-tastic for Fall. Swing by my blog to check it out!

That coat is so stinkin' cute! My little buddy is big but sadly not a size six yet :o(

Laura said...

Well I wouldn't worry. Ebay has been taking SOO long to get listings up. Just give it time!

These are great items, I plan on bidding. How much did your son weigh when he wore these items? My 4.5 year old is about 50pounds and wore a 5 last year so I am wondering if a 6 would work for him.

Yeah ebay has some new program called "best match" which has only served to confuse people to the point of calling themselves an e-idiot.

More changes in store. ~smile~
