Ok, more painted floor inspiration at Grass Stains.
And I cannot stop thinking about a certain post from Money Saving Mom. She's starting a series called 100 ways to save $100. They are all little things that don't seem to matter all that much. But now I find myself thinking twice when I leave a light on in the bedroom or take an extra long hot bath. What if I reduced my consumption just a little? What if I could save $100 one hundred different ways in one year? That's $10,000. What if I just did it half way? That's $5000 or over $400 per month in savings. Shessh!

I love the painted plywood. I'd thought about doing something like that before but didn't know how well it would hold up. I guess lots of poly is the key!

It is funny once you get that money saving thing in your head, you do think twice. I heard Jennifer Aniston say she brushes her teeth in the shower to save water. Little silly but it is an extra step!!!

Oh My Gosh!!!!!!!!!! This post could not have come at a better time. Jeff and I ripped carpet out of the living room just now and I was so excited to read this. I love love doing DIY projects, makes me feel so good when it's all complete. Well, off to get the kids from grandma's.

I WISH my subfloor was plywood! I have CARPET in my kitchen (and just why I've lived with it this long before getting sick of it before now is beyond me!) and what's underneath that is some kind of '60's broken tile/concrete mixture that is SO ugly. I have no idea what to do with it. Sigh...would that I had plywood! : )

ahhh...love painted floors. I was debating between painting my sub-floor and the fake wood planks...I finally went with. Glad you showed some pics.

@Teresa- yes it does hold up very well to traffic! I used floor paint and sealed it with polyurethane.

Thanks for the links, it's so much fun looking. By the way, loved your spring decorating post. I especially liked the info on the cloche stand. It's just another way of layering! I would have never thought of that and I would certainly have never thought to use hot glue. I learn so much from you!! I need to go buy myself a case of glue sticks!!
I just LOVE painted floors. And love the people who have the courage to paint their floors even more:) Did a few post myself on painted floors, and though most of my readers loved the look, they admitted they just couldn't do it!
