That looks like so much fun! I saw a bunch of stuff I'd want...namely that floweredy dress on the girl in the kitchen area and big slice of that bundt cake, and a whole slew of girlfriends that I could have swap meets with like this! Haha! ;o)
How fun! Ok, the next time you do this, let me know, and I'll stay with my cousin in Mooresville and drive over for this!! Cute stuff!! I am "hearting" that vase that Holly is holding!
I had a friend that hosted one of these and it was so much fun! I came home with a couple of great trades! These are a great way to recycle your stuff and enjoy friends too! Looks like you all had a great time!
So fun! I'm quite sure I saw a banana pudding there amidst all the food, too. Ohmigosh I've gotta go make one right now! What did you get from the swap?
Oooh, I SO wish that I could have been there! Sounds like a great time :)!! Saw too many cute items that would have found a happy home here at The Blessed Nest! And thanks for your sweet comment :), I heart you too! Blessings, Stacey
I don't know what a Swap Meet is but it sure looks like fun. Did Martha stop by with the food? And why is it SO MUCH FUN to look at other people's stuff on a blog?
What FUN it was!!! I was so blessed to be there! And the banana pudding was to die for... I would love the recipe! All the food was abundant and great... and the fellowship even more. Thank you soooooooo much for opening your home to us. Ladies, the Nester is even sweeter and more adorable in person!!! (And all the other women I met were wonderful too.) Blessings!
Recognize a few of my favorite bloggers there! :) So fun. Would love to have you stop by my blog today for pictures of our new home! The plates especially were inspired by you! Blessings, Shilo
My eyes have turned green with envy over here! ;) I've been thinking about offering to host a swap with my MOPS group, so I am anxious to hear how you organized this without ladies tearing through the place like a tornado...it doesn't look like anyone was injured. ;)
Okay, so I've never heard of a swap meet...have I been under a rock? How exactly does it work? I was just thinking this morning how I have a pile of things I need to part with...this could be the answer. Thanks for sharing! Janell
I KNOW! I read about it on Jen's blog and I have been waiting (impatiently) for you to post more. I positively drooled over the photo of all the stuff piled on the table. The basket of eggs made me squeal (internally). So much fun! I can't wait to see more.
I had so much fun! It was so nice to have an afternoon with like-minded women and shop for free! Thank you so much for inviting me. I will loet you know when our little group is doing our co-op if you want to join us for science or world history. Have a blessed day!
It was such a wonderful time! Thank you so much for hosting Nester! I promise you all I will post that corn dip recipe for everyone, if I can remember all I added to the original recipe! I love all the fun things I got - they make me smile.
Can't wait to hear all the details! I want to host one for my girlfriends, and i am not above copying every thing you did! That's pure flattery, my friend.
Oh, how I would have loved to come but we had plans to go to TN. Little did I know that God had other plans & I was attending the funeral of my step-father instead.
I am so ticked I missed out on this! And don't think I didn't see the dessert with the Nilla wafers on top. You girls all look so cute and like you had such a BLAST!!!
Girl, When you emailed me and told me you were going to do this I knew the day of the post would be hard... not just because of the "stuff" I was missing out on because I live on the other side of the US- but look at them southern tasty treats in your kitchen! I'd have gone just for the name tag and a plate of goodies and a chance to stand next to your horizontal door. Fun times. Next time we'll have it at my place:)
hi nester, that looks like so much fun! are you gonna post the rules and such for this kinda swap? that would be fantabulous! keep up the great bloggin'!
I too have done this, and it's a lot of fun. My next event is August 27th at a garden center that invited me after hearing of the first event I did at a local decorating shop. Showing new ways to decorate with others discards brings lots of conversation among the guests. Thanks for sharing your post.
People, see those words at the bottom of the last photo that says "more to come"?
That means I'll be writing more about the swap very soon. So put down your high heel shoes that you are holding along with your hot glue guns held like real guns at the ready to riot me for not telling you all the details.
I'm dying to do one of these but I don't know how to run it. Would you please tell us how you ran the process of picking? What were the requirements to participate? All that kind of stuff. I am so ready to host one of these.
I can't wait to hear about this! I totally want to host a swap meet now. Especially with money being tight for so many people I know, myself included, this is a great way to get to "go shopping".
I want to know how you kept everyone in the know about what was up for swapping and what was YOURS... it looks like things were spread all over your house!
Your swap looks like so much fun! I have seen some pictures of it on other blogs. I would have trouble picking my 'swap' with all those pretty things!!
We've done that before, too! We include regretable cosmetic purchases, clothes, and accessories, and just basically trade over wine. It's free, fun, and also very social.
Well that looks like fun! You will have to fill us in SOON on this because me and several of my friends are wanting to do a swap meet, too! I've never even been a part of one, though, and would like to make it as fun as possible! So tell us some of your favs from that day!
LOVE it! I e-mailed everyone in my area in my address book, and I've gotten a positive response from every single one. Can't wait to host this party!
I was looking around online and found a great swap meet resource - an article in Real Simple. Here's the link: http://www.realsimple.com/holidays-entertaining/entertaining/everyday-celebrations/host-swap-party-00000000013711/index.html
Can't wait to hear more about this as I plan my party.

That looks like so much fun! I saw a bunch of stuff I'd want...namely that floweredy dress on the girl in the kitchen area and big slice of that bundt cake, and a whole slew of girlfriends that I could have swap meets with like this! Haha! ;o)
How fun! How embarrassing if no one wants your item! yikes! Could you bring more than one thing?
That looks like sooo much fun! Can't wait to see more!
I love this idea.....looks like so much fun. I might have to do this in the Chapel Hill/Durham area...if anyone is interested...let me know!!
Stop teasing!! Can't wait to hear more about the swap & see more house pictures!
Can't wait for the next one! ;) Fabulous way to spend an afternoon!
How fun! Ok, the next time you do this, let me know, and I'll stay with my cousin in Mooresville and drive over for this!! Cute stuff!! I am "hearting" that vase that Holly is holding!

Looks like you had some great things to choose from! I like how it became more of an event with all of that yummy-looking food.
I had a friend that hosted one of these and it was so much fun! I came home with a couple of great trades! These are a great way to recycle your stuff and enjoy friends too! Looks like you all had a great time!

I think I spot Kimba...Jen...and Leigh Ann? Who else was at the Swap Meet we might know? Wish I could've been there--looks like fun. :-)
I have always dreamed of doing this! Don't keep us in suspense for long, please.... :)
So fun! I'm quite sure I saw a banana pudding there amidst all the food, too. Ohmigosh I've gotta go make one right now! What did you get from the swap?
I love Emily standing on the chair in the background of that one photo.
Would you please share how you did this? What are the "rules", etc? This looks like alot of fun!
Thanks~
Beth
Thanks so much for organizing the swap. It was so much fun! You can take a look at where your artichoke now lives in my kitchen...
What a great idea!! The picture are lovely and I'm looking forward to hearing more.

Read all about it at Jen's and it looked awesome!! Wish I could have been there. I would have just looked and not touched anything. :)
That looks like fun, and what a great idea...indoors, with food, and everybody "shopping". Brilliant.
So cool. We were looking to do something with our children's good clothes. Can't wait to hear more!
I love the high ceilings in your new home!
Lovely food, lovely items, lovely ladies (and lovely children too!)
Oooh, I SO wish that I could have been there! Sounds like a great time :)!! Saw too many cute items that would have found a happy home here at The Blessed Nest! And thanks for your sweet comment :), I heart you too!

Ok, I'm laughing - that pic with Emily is the best, and of course,my big ole mouth is open in the same one. :)
It was a blast...thank you, thank you.

Gosh...I miss living in the deep South. Pound cakes make it to every event. Not so elsewhere my friends...not so.
I haven't had so much fun in a long time. SO much fun.
Nester, you are the best hostess. Do you know that?
A very sweet idea so appro for the times!
Hello!!!! I live in NC and I SO would have brought the goods to swap!
I told Jen the next time ya'll have a shin-dig, give me a buzz =)
Recognize a few of my favorite bloggers there! :) So fun.

Would you look at that FOOD?!? That's all I saw. Sorry. I'm not a cook but when I see ready made food, I slur my words and lose my mind.

How much fun! I saw some SLAH pieces being snagged!

LOVE that giant margarita glass in picture no. 4!! ;-)
I was just reading about this the other day and plotting one of my own.
How exciting! Love that Southern Living Rooster candle holder! Can't wait to see more!

How fun! I wanted to come but hubby made family plans that day. I hope you have another one!!!
So fun! I'd love to have one in the Memphis area. Wonder if anyone would organize it? : )
Oh, how I would have loved to come but we had plans to go to TN. Little did I know that God had other plans & I was attending the funeral of my step-father instead.
So glad y'all had a good time.
JEALOUS!! I wish I lived near you, although I doubt I have anything you'd want to swap with me.
I love that, but how does a swap meet work!? I've never been to one. Could you do a future post on how-to hold a swap meet?
Thanks!
Oh, heck, I wish I could've been there. ;)
This looks like so much fun! I just did a book swap for my kiddos last week, but I like the "big girl" parties better!
I am so ticked I missed out on this! And don't think I didn't see the dessert with the Nilla wafers on top. You girls all look so cute and like you had such a BLAST!!!
Oh, I wish I could have been there. I saw some great treasures in those photos. laurie
Oh my. That looks like so much fun! :)
Dang...why don't I live in your neighborhood? Looks like a lot of fun!

Swap meet sounds interesting. Wish you would tell us more about it - how it works, etc.
Please tell more!
How did you word the invitation? How many people to do you recommend for this kind of thing?
And finally, did you make all that food or was this a potluck too?
I too have done this, and it's a lot of fun. My next event is August 27th at a garden center that invited me after hearing of the first event I did at a local decorating shop. Showing new ways to decorate with others discards brings lots of conversation among the guests.

Details to come. More details than you want.
How awesome!!! Looks like a fabulous time!!!
Oh my! It looks like you had so much fun. I'm sad that I had to miss it. Can't wait to read all the details to come. :)
I cannot wait to hear the details!!!
My friends and I are discussing this already
I'm dying to do one of these but I don't know how to run it. Would you please tell us how you ran the process of picking? What were the requirements to participate? All that kind of stuff. I am so ready to host one of these.
WOW - that definitely looks like fun! and check out that food spread! WOW!!
