I don't think I've ever shown this one. It's nothing all that amazing but the fabric was a couple of dollars a yard and I just hot glued pom pom fringe to the bottom. I pleated the top with a simple fold and used the famous upholstery tacks to hold it. Yeah, I know I'm so fancy with my pleats. We have 2 windows in this room and they were done for about $4 each.

Nester- this is one of my favorites, really! I think this is the only one I am brave enough to try right now! I have TONS of windows to do, just looking for some good fabric.
You have given me some more non-sewing ideas! I really want a sewing machine but with 2 babies under 3yrs old when would i find the time1?! About a year ago, I made a skirt for a utility sink using hem tape and velcro. That went so well that I used more hem tape to make 5 valances. My mother in law,hairdresser and neighbor thought I was crazy. Love your wit and ideas,keep inspiring us!

So you inspired me to find my hot glue gun. And use it. Which I did, but DANG...it's really hot.

Oh, this is perfect because I've been trying to figure out how I want to mistreat the windows in my son's room. Long panels would no doubt end up shredded or covered with Crayola marker, glue, etc. You know the destructive power of boys.
But this would be perfect. I'm thinking I need to find some fabric. Maybe a plaid or even a supa cute ticking stripe.

I have love your blog! you are way creative! I have a coung with pillows with fringe on them. There are 8 pillows and I love the idea of sewing randon coodinating fabrics on them. This idea is from an earlier post of yours. I have hated those pillows and am sooooo excited to recover them!

Your boys are so handsome. They look good in that family photo on the side. We have many like that, except I'm looking frazzled, not cool and collected like you are.
I have another burning question: How do you know how much fabric to buy for your long window mistreatments?
I keep trying to go to the fabric store but then get overwhelmed and don't know how much to get and leave empty-handed. I even go without my kids so I have all my faculties of brain power, to no avail.
I like this mistreatment but I wonder how that room is dark enough for your children to sleep in. Don't you need more of a window covering so they don't get up at 4 am in summer?
I remember when my kids were little I'd draw all the curtains in the evening so they'd think it was night time and they'd go to sleep!
