Ebay? and Giveaway!

All righty, you people are amazing! Everyone has helped me think about this yard sale/ebay/craigslist thing so much! I decided to be all daring and list a few things on ebay just for the fun of it. Here's a picture of what is listed so far and here's the link if you really want to see it up close and in your face.

I really am gonna wreck ebay completely up. I DO NOT have the patience to write a big long wordy essay about this junk. I figure if someone likes it, they'll bid. Everything starts at 99 cents because I'm so fair and all. If you notice, that scale that you all got hot and bothered about isn't with the group. My sweet husband is apparently more attached to it than I knew. Maybe next year.

I don't think I'm gonna have a yard sale now because our neighborhood stinks for sales and I hate to break it to you and look like a looser but, I only have about 5 friends here. Plus my mom. My mom's neighborhood had their sale 3 weeks ago and my other 4 friends all live in the same HUGE hood and of course, their sale was last week but I scored big time there! So, if that isn't enough to depress you with my friend situation I will tell you now that YOU are my friends. I hope you are not all robots.

Can someone please tell me what this is called and if it has any value? I want to list it and I've never used it I just remember that I think I bought it on the scrapbook isle. Oh someone asked and yes, I'm getting together some garland starter kits still. So sorry it takes me forever. Do you think that all I want to do is sell you stuff? I hope not.

Just to be sure, let's do a giveaway like some of you suggested! See you are as shameless as me so that makes me feel better. This time, instead of a tassel, let's do...

a black and white garland starter kit.

That will be fun I know how you all love your black and white, Hillary and Obama--you'll still need to add a few things in it from your life, that's what makes it fun! If you are clueless on what on God's green earth I am speaking of see this post. Now I'm feeling all political. That is the closest to political this blog's ever gonna get. If you want to win it, just leave me a comment about nothing or anything and make sure I have a way to reach you if and when you win!

Ok--I think your contraption is something to yank out nostril hairs. That's what it looks like to me. And surely someone with very long nostril hairs will buy it from you on ebay for a large sum of money.

Good luck on ebay...you'll probably end up getting $1,000 ! Who knows!?

Too bad about the scale. I was gonna tell you that I wanted the scale and candlesticks, but I saw that I would've been behind about 500 other people!

Moving is tough. I've been there, done that. We moved 3 times in 3 years, for my husband's job. Each time to a new place where I had zero friends. It was hard, but God was good, and each time He brought amazing women into my life.

Before you know it, you'll have a boatload of new friends. In the meantime, I'm honored to be your friend.

Hi Nester!

Thanks so much for your comment on my blog yesterday, I really felt like a celebrity had stopped by!

The scrapbooking item you are unsure about is an eyelet setter. I'd guess they're about $10 in the store but that's probably not with the cute tin case and all the attachments that yours has so I think you'd definitely be able to sell it on e-bay.

I love your garlands and would also love to be entered in your starter kit contest. I also love your tassels and would be interested to learn how to make them, not that you have to tell me all your secrets but you could point me in the right direction. ;)

I'm off to look at your grass for sale now, I think I really NEED that!

I have read your awesome blog everyday for the past month or two. My bff Lettie (her comment's below) told me about how it rawks (it does). I have mistreated windows in two rooms - my windows and I thank you - and I made a little curtain for my awkward vanity spot in my bathroom. AND...(I'm almost done) I made a ragamuffin garland for my 3 year old daughter yesterday out of quilting scraps from my neighbor (who reads your blog, too, thanks to moi). Might send some pics later. None of it is perfect, but it is all beautiful. Lettie was so pumped that you left a comment on her blog, that she called me squealing about it this morning. We both agreed that it was like having a brush with Madonna (I jumped up and down a little)... we love you in Alabama!

I bet you don't have any "Kayleen"'s posting comments. I love the uniqueness of my name. Almost as much as I love your blog! I found it by searching through blogs of friends and I feel so lucky. Now I'm advertising you to all my friends!

And, I can't wait to go raid my mom's boxes of material for window mistreatments and garland scraps. :) If I win the starter kit, I think you can reach me on my blog. Any follow up comments you leave should go to my gmail account.

One of the reasons your blog is perfect for me? I'm 5 months pregnant and totally in the "Nesting" Mood! ;) I hope I win! Thanks for all your great ideas!

Dear Nester,
Hi! I am just getting the courage to comment on here for the first time... to be honest, I sorta feel like you are a celebrity blogger, but alot of that is probably because I feel like I know you, and you know nothing about me. So, I'll tell you just a little about me, in hopes of two things - 1) that I might win the garland goodies, and 2)that maybe we'd be friends?
Ok, I am a designer in Greensboro - 2 years out of college, doing commercial design, and wishing a little bit that I could do more residential "stuff". Also, I'm recently engaged and getting married in December! (yay for me and my honey!) We just bought a house, but it was our second choice. Our first choice was (wait for it...) your sister's house. Emily's friend (Kendra) told me me I had to see their house because the style was "me". I fell in love. The MLS site for the house was my homepage. I loved the mistreatments, the paints, the textures, the garland in the baby's room. Alas, someone beat us to it - and my little heart was broken with the thought that the black kitchen cabinets could no longer be mine. I found Emily's blog through Kendra's blog. I found your blog through Emily's blog. I have wasted HOURS at work reading said blogs (not just recent posts - ALL OF THEM) I feel like I know you guys :) I also am bound and determined to design and decorate our new house as soon as we close (may 9th - hallelujah!) I'd love your input and ideas if you'd ever like to see photos...
Anyways, even though i've never met Emily, and i've never met you, I feel like we'd all be friends. (Especially if maybe chocolate and good Thursday night TV was involved) And I feel like the ragamuffin garlands are things I would give to friends. So don't you want to celebrate our new friendship by sharing some ragamuffin love with a fellow creative soul? C'mon, I know you want to... :)
Thanks for all the good ideas and inspiration. - Lauren F. laurenfarrington@gmail.com

Fun to examine. Fun to figure out all of the different little fabrics and items that are tucked in there. Kind of like a where's waldo for the craft junkie. :)

De-lurking here! I love your blog - I found you via June GonnaEatThat/CutoffCash. As soon as I find some time, I am going to mistreat my office and kitchen windows!

Figured I might as well de-lurk and also have the chance to win something too! :o)

Oh you silly chickie! You know I love you! Anyways if you magically pick me I'll give you my HL discount! Hehehehehehehehe
Did I mention how tiny and slim you look in your blog picture? (Hoping to influence you in your choice! But it is true, you are a tiny little thing!)

OK! I am having the same hard decision as you! I have about six boxes of stuff in our garage I want to get rid of but kinda want to make some extra bucks but probably will end up donating. I have also been wanting to try ebay. Let us know how easy or hard it really is. And about the mistreatments I think I have one in my kitchen! My fabric is up with clear pushpins! Arggg! They have been that way for a few months but they look pretty perfect besides the fact that they are held up by pins and the bottoms are not hemmed. Oops!!! The most important thing is I Want To WIN that giveaway! Have a great night! Julie email mastersonspj@bellsouth.net

You see, this is what I get for checking out your blog BEFORE my beloved cup of coffee! I clicked over to your Etsy store to see if by chance this bad boy was still listed before totally reading - duh - anywho... I would love this! So, yah, pretty please, with a tassle on top, enter me. It would look so devine with my new black and white furniture that will be arriving this weekend!

Excellent ideas BTW! Keep 'em coming!

Count me in for your give away! I love black & white and what a cute garland that will be.

I just did a garage sale last weekend and after 2 hours I was done. I packed it up and hauled it away. I did get my big items sold but, I posted them on craigslist beforehand. I still made some money from the little stuff but, I don't know if I will do a sale again for just some little stuff. Craigslist was definately worth the little effort I put into it and I got a fast response. My kids got new bikes with the garage sale money and were happy:)!

Oh, and I don't do garage sales either. I'm much more likely to put stuff out with a "free" sign. I don't have the patience for the beast of a garage sale. Ebay frightens me.

My sister (who I'm trying to get to blog) & I are in a store today (Garden Ridge, I think). And I ask her if she's looked at your blog. Because everything in the store reminded me of The Nester! So she does read your blog, and I think she's one step closer to blogging. Yea!

Looks like you're doing well with the ebay auctions!! And I love your descriptions. They are very descriptive!! I am so glad your sister talked you into blogging!

Isnt that thing above that some folks are sayin might be nose hair tweezers, used for making embellishments for scrap booking? or something like a soddering gun?

Sadness about the scale, but glad you're keeping it in the family. I love your taste and all your ideas. You give us permission to tear fabric, use glue guns without shame, eat toaster strudels, put holes in our walls, and even give out secret paint formulas. Who else does that? I may just write you in for President...

As I have said before, you INSPIRE me!
Your idea about the door you painted and used above your sofa got me movin' on an OLD door from my husband's grandmother's house. Finished it this week. Once it is hung, I will post a picture.

Hope you choose me for the garland ... my kitchen is red, black and white! It would be perfect draped on our kitchen table light!
