A Non Informative, Time Wasting Post

I'm sposed to be being productive. I get the keys to the new place in 1 hour, 43 minutes and I can do nothing until then. My mind is full of wonderings of where sofas will go, if two twin beds will fit in any of the bedrooms and if the refrigerator had one of those rich people ice doohickeys in the door.

I could be doing stuff like taking beds apart, but I think I packed my drill so I'll let my husband help me when he gets home. Or cleaning the oven, but, then I'd have to clean the oven. Instead, I'm here, writing to you dear reader. Our adventure continues.

Movers will be here tomorrow to get the big stuff. And we'll have to hillbilly {no offense to hillbillies} the rest of the stuff ourselves.

By the way, if you are trying to avoid something you should be doing too, you can go vote for June, who never fails to make me laugh. Bye, Bye Pie was nominated for Funniest Blog-- Vote Now! Remember, I wrote an ode to her and her old blog? And then I forced her to go to lunch with me. Then I stalked her house when I should have been packing last year when I thought we were moving for the last time for a long time. Yeah, June and I go way back. And she totally deserves to win.

Happy Moving Day! :) I've never heard the term "hillbilly" it. I'm borrowing it, thanks.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with your new place. Nothing like moving for more blog fodder, right? :)

I've never heard that term either! Actually, I much prefer moving ourselves, well not that I like moving. LOL I guess I'm particular about how things are done with my *stuff*.

I, too, can't wait to see pics of the new house and how you decorate!

I'm supposed to be doing dishes right now. ;)

T and I have totally "hibillied" it before. We used his store's delivery box truck when we bought our house. Had to move at night, of course, when the guys weren't out on delivery. I'm sure the neighbors wondered if we were in the Witness Protection Program, or mafia, or something. The rest of the time, we used my car and his truck to haul stuff over here. ;)

We're hillbillied it on several occasions, although we always refer to it as the "Clampett" way to move things. I can just picture Granny perched on top of your car, rocking in her rocking chair.

Blogs are my favourite time-waster, too! I can't wait to see your new nest, and all the fun things you do to it. Must be nice to have someone else take care of the big stuff! We've always moved EVERYthing ourselves. What a pain!

You're too funny! We always say that we look "like the Clampetts"!! :) I really hope that you're move goes smoothly & you and the fam love your new home!

Moving sucks. I'm dreading it even though it's a year away. I've got plenty of notice. I know there's a lot to be done beforehand. Yet, I can't figure out where I should start.

Sounds like some good procrastination to me! Good luck with the move. Make sure you didn't pack the Ibuprofen. That always helps me! ;)

You're just really cracking me up today! I can truly say that I have never heard the term "hillbilly it" before. And growing up in a family full of them who have the names to prove it (Homer, Clayter, Garcy Charles...) that's sayin' something! Good luck with all the movin' and what not. That's always such a chore. Can't wait to see what you do with the new place.

Thanks for giving me something to read in the 5 minutes before I have to walk out the door... Got a rock I gotta go paint today... tomorrow is the last day of school. Then I have to rush back, feed my kids and then get to church by 6:15 for VBS Volunteer Training... crazy day!!! I don't envy you having to move. I get so overwhelmed with the chaos. But moving is the the only way I know how to get my closets and cupboards organized! Happy new key! That is always fun. Blessings!!

I'm suppose to be working right now, but I'm blogging. Don't tell. Good luck on your move. I'm so afraid of moving again as we have tooooo much stuff. I guess it's time to get rid of something. But I love my stuff! Can't wait to see what you do with the new place. Here's hoping that the new fridge has one of those rich people ice doohickeys. I love it!!!

Good luck with the move...may all your breakables - not break. I'm still struggling to get my junk organized from last year's move! Can you say unorganized? Yep, that is me. Keep posting, I want/NEED the inspiration you give us.

Hey Nester! Since you have nothing else to do (ha ha) how about hopping over to my blog and check out my window (mis)treatments. I didn't call them mistreatments b/c I did a little sewing...however, I'm proud to say they also got some stitchy witchy treatment too! Does that count?

Can't wait to see your new nest.

Hugs!

Can't wait to see what you do when you get that key! I'm sure the paint cans will come in first!
Followed by the molding, then the fabric right?
Please post before and during photos! Hope you get some rest tonight! I'm happy for you!

What chu talkin' bout, Nester - I'm pretty sure moving requires lazy contemplation and urgent time wasting.

Thanks for your visit, it was such a thrill. I suddenly felt less lazy. But I'm still not going to help you move. Sorry. I'm hillbilly enough to know when to lay low.

Rich people doohickeys. And you know I knew exactly what you meant? You kill me.

I have 48 million hits on my blog today because you mentioned stalking me here. I really didn't mind the stalking. And that restraining order is almost expired.

Oh, what I wouldn't have given to have movers for the big stuff for our past 10 moves! Actually, it would have affected my husband and our weary friends more than myself. We've done it all ourselves all. ten. times.
I don't envy you your move, but a new house is always exciting!h

Kim said...

I am so excited about the move! I'm soooo looking forward to seeing mistreatments and furniture placement. :o) Can't wait to see the new Nest!

be glad for any refrigerator! In Texas, when someone moves..they normally have to bring their own refrigerator. Even in a rental. :)

I voted! I looked at the rest of the categories and saw that The Inspired Room was on there, too! Thanks for the heads up!

I haven't forgotten about the birdies. It may have to be next week before I can get back out there, and by then you'll be in your new place!

Good luck moving. Can't wait to see what you do in your new place!

I like your casual post with no agenda or bullet points! (Although I like those too!)

We are hillbillies...with the requisite sheet flapping in the wind about to fly onto your windshield.

Can I just say I respect you SO much!!! I am only 25 and I just moved into what is going to be our our first 'real' home, as in we just moved in to a new place together for the first time?! I have been reciting "it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful" nonstop until I thinl his ears are going to bust out of his head, lol!!! I will have pics up by 6/17, even you even care to look! I'm sure your place is fabulous!

Fabric Alert!
My local Wal-Mart is closing its Fabric Department and all fabrics are currently 50% off. I'm not sure if this holds true for all Wal-Marts everywhere or just the ones in Ohio.
Check out my latest post to see what I did with my fabric.

We are prepping our house to list and I'm not looking forward to THAT moving day! We've "hillbillied" it before and I'm sure in some way we will be doing it that way again. Good luck in your new home!
