Love all of these posts - and so glad we're heading into winter decor/Christmas season!!

Can't wait to hang my boys' ragamuffin garland that I ordered from you ---- what seems like forever ago!

Hmmmm, I'm not sure about those furry balls! LOL

I didn't mention yesterday, but another thing that keeps me from starting too early is the weather! It's warm here, the weather isn't cooperating with the Christmasy feeling.

I was not blogging the last time the garland was posted and I am so glad to have seen it this time. I think a holiday garland is in my future! Thanks for the idea.

Okay I cannot help myself. What are those furry ball things in the first pic? They look like the old Gremlin "eggs" lol.

Always love your posts :o)

The way I hang all sorts of things has been drastically changed since I read about hanging a wreath with ribbon (which is exactly how my fall wreath is hung right now). Thanks for the tip!

I gotta say I am so proud to know you. You, Queen Nester, could hold yourself aloof from all us other bloggers. You could be Unreachable. You could be Untouchable. You know--you're not supposed to touch the Queen. But you are reachable. You are touchable. You're right in here with the rest of us. I can just imagine how happy Edie was to have you in her 12 Days line-up. And now you've given her 12 Days a plug right here at Nesting Place. I'm doing one of the days at Edie's (or part of a day, anyway), so now I'll be a beneficiary of your having gotten the word out about Edie's series.

Gosh, I heart you. Honestly.

OMG--when I saw the first picture (how to make a centerpiece with what you have...) all I could think of was "A Tribble Christmas!" ok....so I'm a real dork. I do love it, though!

Please come decorate my house for Christmas!

I love the necklaces! I would get one charm with AGR and another with CER.

I LUUUUUUUUUVE the fur wreath!!! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy (like my coat used to before I just cut it up for the new wreath...)!

Thank You!!! Bring on Christmas!!!

I love the shared ideas to help me with Christmas creativity. I posted about your blog and used some pictures. Let me know if you want me to change or delete any of it. Thanks!

Your garlands, wreaths and tables are beautiful! Thanks for the tips!

Can I ask though, how do you keep your boys from messing with your decor? I don't mind them adding to the decor with toys, just not playing with the breakables. My three (all girls), love to touch - which often leads to disaster. They are younger than your kids (1, 3 and 6) but I assume that these were up to some extent when they were little? It is mainly my little two and they do get consequences when this happens however it doesn't seem as if they learn - lol. Augh! Any ideas ladies? Thanks. Betsy

Thanks for the links to check out, Nester! :) I was pretty new to blogging/reading blogs last Christmas, so I'm looking forward to seeing some new tips this year for my house. :)

Dear Decor Rock Star:

How do you decorate for the holidays slowly, without having boxes of decorations sitting around everywhere or climbing up in the attic multiple times?

Also, we need more 31 days series? ........I am addicted and you are my dealer, I need a daily fix, sister!!!!

I love your tutorials! I made a fantastic garland last year because of you.

This year I really do wish you would do a tutorial on how to decorate the top of your tree. It seems like people are using sticks and things nowdays and I don't really know how to do all this. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm totally making that raggamuffin garland this year! It will justify the existance of the bins of fabric I've shuffled around for years and done nothing with! And I think I can do this with my 4 year old around and not have to worry about him "ruining" it :) I must try that fur wreath too - it is gorgeous. I think it might be a project for next year...don't want to tax myself too much this year!

I love those ragamuffin garlands. Heading out to get supplies and get started on mine tonight!

I LOVE the ragamuffin wreath. I'm in my craft room now, checking out my ribbon! Thanks.

Thank you for the fur wreath idea! I love it. I am switching to all white decorations this year and that will be perfect.

the little Christmas village is adorable. I need to get a huge glass jar like that. Just love it!

I made the ragamuffin garland the last time I came across it on your blog. It's in my daughter's room. I didn't spend more than a couple buck for the hardware to hang it. Everything else I had in my stash. We love it! It's perfect for her room. Now I'm thinking of making one for Christmas.... what a great idea. Maybe for my staircase.

OK, I like the fur wreath, don't get me wrong! BUT-I have a 15 pound white cat that would have to get in on the action and I don't see that ending well! She's my husbands cat as well, so heaven help me if I injure his precious kitty bear pie, even on accident! LOL!

No fur wreath for me this year...

I love the look of hanging a wreath over a mirror. I plan to do this in my dining room this year. Thanks for the ideas!

I seriously canNOT believe it is even November already! I have put my tree up one year as early as now...but that was surely before I was as busy as now. But I will try and get some out early becuase I too adore it..and it IS WAAAY too much work to leave it only 4 weeks. Although- I have NEVER done that. Mine stays up until Valentines Day. At LEAST. hahaa. (I'm crazy like that.)

Were those fur balls in your first picture? GLove the stacked Christmas monument. Colors are great, textures abound... if they were fur squares you wouldn't be able to say you decorate with fur balls... so much better for blog fodder to have fur balls. Wow... an entire comment on fur balls? I'm going nutters,... off to bed.

Abbie said...

I think my first Christmas decorating project is going to be ripping down the flowered wallpaper in the dining room and repainting it to a lovely color (hmm, what color?).

My second will be a Christmas ball wreath that I saw last year online and bought the shiny balls on sale last January to make! Then I just have to decide if it will go on my door, mantel mirror or front of the house!

Ashly said...

I finally did it- I made the garland.... only problem now is.... I'm ADDICTED to them (I am working on my Christmas one already). Thanks for all that you do!

Hi Nester,

I just wanted to make a request. I think you should expand your empire by selling kits to make ragamuffin garlands. Cuz here's my prob...um...I like your taste. I don't think I'd be that good at putting all the colors and patterns together. Plus, I'm just too lazy. However, I'm not too lazy to order something off the internet and then sit around tying all the pieces on.

Just a thought. :-)

I love all of your ideas! I am always amazed at how creative you are!
I would never have even thought of glueing a candle stick to a plate, but what a great look!

Thank you for always being real and bringing inspiration and decorating hope to us all!
